Yin

Yin is the opposite of yang. The qualities of yin include cold/cool, dimness, descending, stillness, introversion, heaviness, etc.

(1) 두 개의 전극 사이에 전류가 흐를 때에, 전위가 낮은 쪽의 극.
(2) 어떤 수가 0보다 작은 일.
(3) 역학(易學)에서, 태극(太極)이 나뉜 두 기운 가운데 소극적이고 수동적인 면을 상징하는 철학 범주. 어둠, 땅, 달, 암컷, 차가움 따위로 나타난다.
(4) 음양설의 입장에서 체질ㆍ약성(藥性)ㆍ증상 따위가 정적이고, 차고, 소극적인 것을 이르는 말. =마이너스(minus), 음극(陰極). 참고: 양(陽)
